Approved Artist Bio

Crown Compass is a Dutch progressive metal band which features highly experienced musicians who had been playing and touring nationally and internationally for the last 20 years.

Daniël de Jongh (vocals) and Joe Tal (Guitars) are both members of the highly acclaimed Dutch band Textures which was a pioneering band in modern progressive metal.

Robin Zielhorst (Bass Guitar) is mostly known for his years as the bass player of American experimental prog band Cynic.

Yuma van Eekelen (Drums) is a past member of Dutch death metal legends Pestilence.

Robin and Yuma have also been playing together for years in Exivious and Our Oceans.

In 2020 Daniël, Joe, Yuma and Robin have decided to join forces and founded Crown Compass, a progressive/eclectic power house.

After a few singles and teasers the band released its debut album “The Drought” in the spring of 2022.

The album contains a variety of musical styles in which the band explores its dynamic range.

The lyrics on the album are a selection of stories dealing with the individual within a group, within his society and within himself.

The two-part story, The Drought, is a tale of abuse and guilt.
